LOOKING BACK 03:50
when the leaves change I can smell it it’s in the air and the night time gets so silent that I’m barely aware that the chill started creeping in and the past stayed in the past cuz the future always begins while I’m still looking back when you talk I can hear it it’s in your voice when I listen you can see it I’m afraid, yet poised when I rise, I can feel it the light, it grows and now I don’t even notice now it barely shows
2.
how the hell am i supposed to tell the difference between intuition and emotion? do i try to consider too much? or is it that just that others just don’t think enough? THOUGHTS EXIT THOUGHTS EXIT some people tell me that i talk too much some people tell me that i need to speak up some people tell me that i… some people tell me SPEAK UP

any job becomes easier with a little incentive any week seems a little bit shorter when you think about the weekend we crave comfort we need to relax we all work so hard we crave comfort we need to relax come on, give us a reward anyone who pays rent understands that money’s gotta come from somewhere but we all know the result of all work and no play look what happened to the Torrance family
5.
i hate the heat in the summer i hate the dark in the winter i’m always tired when i’m working i’m always restless when i’m sleeping when will i be in the right place at the right time? wrong place wrong time wrong place all the time a morning person at 3am i eat healthy when i’m scared of dying i dropped my heart and soul into the seemingly least lucrative rabbit hole

how can I say this sans cliche a platitude about the good old days maybe a poem for the times gone by something reminiscent of American Pie ain’t it a shame that we can’t go back ain’t it a waste to ask questions like that ain’t it a travesty the way things are now don’t think they’ll ever seem how we’d rather they’d be what if I told you nostalgia’s a hoax built in the brains of us sentimental folks it eats away at the here and now but we convince ourselves it’s better somehow

FAINT LINES 02:45
FAINT LINES MAKE UP THE WHOLE OF THE MAP STARS NEVER SEEN DUE TO LIGHT POLLUTION BELOVED AREAS INFECTED WITH GENTRIFICATION LAWS THAT NO LONGER SERVE THEIR PURPOSE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THEIR OWN UNIVERSE JUSTICE NEVER SERVED AUTERS ROBBED BY FORMULATING HACKS MONEY BEING USED TO OBTAIN POWER UNNOTICED CRACKS SPLINTER IN COLD WEATHER CONVENIENT OPTIONS ARE ALWAYS THE MOST EXPENSIVE THE LEAST EXPERIENCED PEOPLE GIVE THE MOST ADVICE FACTS BECOME CLOUDED BY ENTERTAINMENT ARTISTS FORCED TO PROCURE ADVERTISEMENTS CITIZENS DRIVEN BY SUBLIMINAL MESSAGING GENUINE COMPASSION DEEMED TOO RADICAL CYCLES REPEATING, CYCLES REPEATING, CYCLES MAYBE THIS TIME IT WON’T BE SO BAD I’VE GOT TO TELL MYSELF THAT BOY HAVE WE GOT SOMETHING FOR THAT WE’LL DRAW NEW LINES IN THE SAND

a long list of complaints no solutions static mass, no motion no sign of evolution but I swear, it’s the last time you’ll see me here no, I won’t let myself be controlled by fear this is not the time to cower in the corner so get off the ropes and start throwing punches a long list of goals but no action a perfectly capable vessel with no traction
10.
we’re near the end yet I still long for something, I need closure can you recite these words I wrote so I can believe in something must I confirm every detail to my skeptical mind? I must admit The company you keep is far more pleasant ...and now I feel so much better

about

My last 2020 record. Covers a wide variety of things I thought about and sounds floating around my head this uNpReCiDeNtEd year.

Unlike my other releases this year, this was recorded on 4 track tape and all songs were created from scratch, starting with an improvised drum track, and building from there. It was great fun to work backwards this way and let the limitations fuel the experience & shape the sound.

Hope ya like it, and see ya next time.
